A Collaborative Commitment to Quality, Service, and Economic Development
The Florida Parishes Arena is owned and operated by
Tangipahoa Parish Government. The facility was a collaborative effort between the
State of Louisiana, Tangipahoa Parish and the City of Amite. Amite donated the
land that was once the industrial park for the city. Its purpose is to provide the
community with a multi-functional facility designed to hold a variety events and to
enhance local economic development.
The Florida Parishes Arena began operation in June of 2004. The
official ribbon cutting for the facility took place on Friday July 2, 2004 and served
as the kick-off for a 4th of July Celebration Rodeo. Klein Brothers produced the dual
sanctioned event, a Tri-State Rodeo and Mid South Bull Riding. Since then the arena
schedule has expanded to include an Arts & Crafts Festival sponsored by the FPA Area,
a Monster Truck Show, AWA Pro Wrestling, concerts, and a Barrel Racing Series.
The arena is a state of the art multi-purpose facility with
amenities designed for convenience and safety of participants and guests of events held
at the arena. It is conveniently located off Highway 51 in the center of Tangipahoa Parish
in Amite, Louisiana. Local hotels and a variety of restaurants and shops are available within a 15-mile radius
of the arena for guests to enjoy.
The main arena/stadium seating accommodates 1500+ guests.
The barn area includes 84 horse stalls, with wash racks adjacent to the stalls.
Electrical outlets are strategically located throughout the barn and arena for use
by participants needing this service. RV hookups and service are available on the property.
The arena design allows for additional stadium seating in the future.
